Why ME?

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Orange Lutheran High School in 2024 with a cumulative GPA of 4.62, earning the Humanities Academy Pathway distinction, an endorsement from the National Honors Society, and an endorsement from the California Scholarship Federation. During my time at Orange Lutheran, I excelled academically, taking nine AP classes and maintaining an A grade in all my courses. My dedication to my studies was recognized through numerous awards, including:

• AP Latin Student of the Year
• AP Computer Science - Principles Student of the Year
• Outstanding Social Studies Student (Student of the Year award)
• Outstanding US History Student (Student of the Year award)
• Excellence in Journalism Award: Yearbook (for my role as Co-Editor in Chief of the nationally awarded yearbook)

In addition to my academic achievements, I am deeply committed to community service and leadership. Over the past two years, I have tutored at-risk youth through my local church and have volunteered as a small group leader for five years. Additionally, I have served youth with special needs and disabilities as well as foster youth through my church. These experiences have honed my teaching skills, and I am passionate about breaking down complex ideas to make them accessible to others.

My writing skills are equally strong. I attended the prestigious Yale Young Writer's Workshop and co-founded The Literary Palette, an online literary magazine with fellow teenagers from around the world. At Orange Lutheran, I served as a writing center tutor and contributed to the school’s online publication—the OLu Muse—for three years.

I am an incoming freshman at UCLA, where I will be double majoring in English (with a concentration in Creative Writing) and Classical Civilizations. My AP scores (4s and 5s in AP Latin, AP Statistics, AP Language, AP Literature, AP World History, AP US History, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP U.S. Government) have given me a strong start in my academic journey at UCLA.

I am excited to continue my education and pursue my passion for teaching and writing whilst simultaneously making a positive impact in my community.
